Glacial Park Conservation Area – McHenry County

  • Glacial Park Conservation Area (map)

Travel to McHenry County for a great mix of both early migratory and resident birds in woodland, prairie and wetland habitats with over 100 species on eBird for September.   This is a great site for Bobolinks, Dickcissel, Sedge & Marsh wrens, vireos, both Orchard and Baltimore Orioles and Wild Turkey.  Wetland visitors can include Lesser Yellowlegs, Virginia Rail and sandpipers and some of the warblers will already be in migration.   And we will enjoy some fantastic geology with kames, streams and lakes!
