Protecting endangered species. With your help, we can continue safeguarding the Great Lakes Piping Plover, an endangered shorebird once again nesting in Lake County. Each season, volunteers spend countless hours monitoring nests, recording data, and ensuring these tiny shorebirds have a chance to survive and thrive.

Preserving critical habitats. Lake County is home to extraordinary biodiversity: more than 930 native plants, over 300 animal species, 63 state-listed species, and 14 unique natural communities. From oak woodlands and tallgrass prairies to wetlands and lakefront dunes, donations make it possible to advocate for the protection of these irreplaceable ecosystems across the county.

Inspiring the next generation. Your gift nurtures a love of nature in young people through hands-on educational programs, internships for college students, and birding backpacks in libraries.
