Joint Walk with Chicago Ornithological Society
Our 2025 joint walks with COS were such a success, we're doing it again! This time we’re traveling to Cook County to explore Busse woods - South on Sunday, April 12. After the walk, we invite participants to join us for a social gathering at a nearby picnic shelter, where refreshments will be available.
Space is limited, so be sure to sign up early - each group will be capped at 10 participants. If you register and realize ahead of time you will not be able to make the walk, please send a text to the trip leader so another spot can be re-opened.

Please use the pinned parking lot location below for directions on where to meet within Busse Woods-South (you can park on either side of the road).

Bring binoculars (if available). We do have some loaner binoculars available. Please dress accordingly for the weather and wear appropriate footwear for dirt/grass/paved trails. Depending on recent precipitation, there may be some saturated areas that we'll be walking through.
There are scattered outhouses available throughout the preserve.
In case of inclement weather, the trip leaders will notify all participants via email & text.
