Help Us Plant for the Birds!

Join Lake County Audubon Society and our partners as we create new habitat for migrating birds along Waukegan’s lakefront! Over two mornings, volunteers will help us plant nearly 400 native trees, shrubs, flowering perennials and grasses around Stiner Pavilion at Leisure Park.

These new plantings will provide valuable food, shelter and habitat for the many birds that use Waukegan’s shoreline as an important stopover during migration.

Friday, October 9 & Saturday, October 10
9:00 AM–12:00 PM
Stiner Pavilion at Leisure Park, Waukegan

We’ll gather in the parking lot nearest Stiner Pavilion and begin planting at 9:00 AM. All tools and planting supplies will be provided, and we’ll have refreshments on hand to keep everyone fueled.

What to bring: Gloves, comfortable clothes and shoes that can get dirty, and lots of energy! We’ll take care of the rest.

Planting will take place over two days, so join us for one morning or both. Many hands will help us get hundreds of new native plants in the ground and ready to welcome migrating birds.
