Join us for a Slow Walk or Big Sit @ Nippersink Forest Preserve
Date: Sunday, August 17
Time: 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM
Trip Leaders: Carla Schmakel (224) 426-9314 and Matt Tobin (847) 951-1483
Lake County Audubon Society is offering an easy walk for individuals who would like to take a very leisurely morning stroll on a crushed-gravel trail around Nippersink’s North and South Lakes (up to about 1.25 miles). This is a perfect opportunity for anyone with mobility issues to enjoy a slower-paced walk among birds and nature. We are also offering a “big sit” option for individuals who would be interested in enjoying the preserve from a stationary position. The sit would take place in the mowed field or along the trail by the Shelter A/B parking lot, so please bring along a comfortable folding/lawn chair if you would like to try this option.
This outing is open to all experience levels, and beginners are welcome! Participants will take their time, enjoying the birds and nature.
Specific details about the walk are included in the registration link below:
