Bird Walk - Waukegan Beach

Join Lake County Audubon for a walk around Waukegan Beach in early May. Nat Carmichael, an exceptional birder and photographer with extensive experience visiting Waukegan beach, will be leading the trip. With its mile-long stretch along Lake Michigan, Waukegan Beach is a popular stopover location for many migrating birds in early May, including a variety of shorebirds and seabirds. Many species also breed in and around the beach, particularly along the dunal swale stretching between the beach and parking lot. Waukegan Beach often gets a few rarities stopping by each spring!
