ABOUT LCAS
Founded in the 1970s, Lake County Audubon Society (LCAS) is a non-profit organization and chapter of the National Audubon Society.
The mission of the Lake County Audubon Society is education, conservation, and restoration of natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, and other wildlife and their habitats.
LCAS is organized and guided by volunteers with funding support by generous donors and a small share of first-time member dues from the National Audubon Society.
Meetings: LCAS holds Program Meetings with guest speakers presenting timely topics at 7 PM on the first Monday of the month between October - May. These meetings are open to all, whether a member or not. LCAS meetings are held at Cook Memorial Library in Libertyville and are also available virtually.

Communication & Participation
In 2021, LCAS began a monthly email newsletter. The LCAS newsletter replaced The Audubon Outlook, a paper newsletter that LCAS previously mailed to recipients.
In addition to Program Meetings LCAS holds monthly Board meetings and Committee meetings as needed for planning LCAS activities. Anyone interested is encouraged to participate in LCAS activities such as bird and nature walks, as project volunteers and as members of LCAS’s Birdscaping and Sharing Our Shores - Waukegan project committees.
